This is a nice predatory fossil fish. It is a distinct Phareodus testis from Wyoming. This specimen has very fine detail. The bones and fins are well preserved, and even the backbone is intact and visible, which is unusual. This carniverous fish has large teeth for feeding, and these teeth are EASILY seen on this specimen. The fish is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular matrix plate, that has been professionally framed for optimal display.
